Yesterday Grupo Security successfully concluded the preferential option period for the capital increase it is carrying out. Banchile Corredores de Bolsa S.A. and Credicorp Capital served as placement and structuring agents for the deal. The capital increase was for 415 million shares and began last month (July).

The deal raised CH$51,555 million, with a total of 322,220,568 shares subscribed at a value of CH$160 per share, or just under 80% of the issuance. Subscription options over the remaining 92 million shares will be granted on a prorata basis—approximately 0.28 shares for each share subscribed—to the shareholders participating in this increase. They may be acquired by them for CH$160 per share over the next 18 months.

Renato Peñafiel, CEO of Grupo Security, commented, “The high subscription percentage in the midst of the worst crisis in the last 100 years demonstrates our shareholders’ backing of Grupo Security's long-term project. This successful deal will enable us to fortify the Group's capital base, maintain growth at the Security companies and, potentially, take advantage of opportunities arising in the market. For the past few months, we have focused on improving efficiency at our companies and adjusting our business model to our customers’ needs. In addition to maintaining close relationships and service quality, we have made it possible for 92% of our employees to work from home.”
