Bernardo Fontaine Talavera

Independent Board Member

Bernardo Fontaine has a degree in economics from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. He is a businessman, consultant, member of several boards and a lecturer at Universidad San Sebastián and was formerly a member of the Chilean Constitutional Convention. He has worked in various sectors, including finance, real estate, insurance, industrial and retail at companies like Bicecorp, Banco Bice, AquaChile, Metro de Santiago, among others. He is also the founder and president of Fundación de Beneficencia El Buen Samaritano.

Mr. Fontaine has a distinguished track record in the financial sector, having served as Executive Vice President of CMR, head of Falabella's financial services business, and Vice President of Citibank in Chile. Since 2002, he has been working independently and in 2007 he founded 7A S.A., a company dedicated to investing and financial advisory services.

In the public and political sphere, Mr. Fontaine was an independent center-right member of the Constitutional Convention and the coordinator and spokesman of the campaign to reject the constitution drafted by the convention in 2022. He is the founder of Reforma la Reforma and Fundación Ciudadanos en Acción, organizations focused on mobilizing citizens in favor of a free society and a social market economy. He represented the opposition party in tax agreement negotiations with Michelle Bachelet’s administration in 2014.
